

Digital Photography into Art

Overview:
This two-day digital photography workshop focuses on the
creation of artistic images beginning with digital photographs.
The process incorporates both outdoor and indoor studio
shooting techniques with image manipulation in Photoshop.
The workshop combines:
1) Classroom instruction (basic digital SLR camera
controls along with key Photoshop techniques)
2) Outdoor shooting of the beautiful fall scenery
around the Inn at Lonesome Hollow
3) Indoor studio shoots using artificial lighting
4) Photoshop image manipulation and printing
The workshop is designed for the beginning/intermediate
photographer with a digital SLR camera. Workshop size is
limited to 8 photographers.
Location:
The workshop will be hosted by Bob Denny Photography and
the elegant Inn at Lonesome Hollow located in Soldiers Grove,
Wisconsin, about an hour west of Madison.
Class-room Content:
1) Elements of exposure management
- shooting mode choices - Tv, Av, or M
- shutter speed and aperture selection
- exposure adjustment controls
2) Histograms
3) Composition for artistic images
4) Basic Photoshop techniques used during the workshop
- artistic filters
- black and white conversion and selective colorization
Equipment required:
1) Digital SLR Camera and lenses
2) Tripod
3) spare memory card
Optional: Close focusing lenses, filters, or extention tubes
Studio lighting equipment, backdrops, etc. will be provided by
Bob Denny Photography.
Laptop Computer and Photoshop
Workshop participants are requested to bring their own laptop
computers for image downloading and manipulation during the
workshop. We will be sharing images via a video projector so
we all can benefit from the creativity of the group. We will
utilize Photoshop Elements as our software for image
manipulation. Elements will be available for use at the
workshop by all participants
An Epson 2200 pigment ink printer will be available for use by
the workshop participants. Paper and Ink charges will be at my
cost.

Schedule:
The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning,
October 31st with a delicious Lonesome Hollow breakfast and
conclude at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 1st. A welcoming
wine and cheese reception will be held on Friday night at 8:00
p.m.
Lodging:
A variety of elegant bed and breakfast accommodations are
available at the Inn at Lonesome Hollow. Inquiries and
reservations should be made directly with the Inn at Lonesome
Hollow.

Workshop Cost, Questions, and Registration
Workshop cost is $195 per participant. Lodging and meals are
not included and are the responsibility of the workshop
participant.
